Edit Phonetic Keyboard Dialog

Edit Phonetic Keyboard Dialog allows you to configure the keyboard layout according to your choice

How to use it

Edit Phonetic Keyboard Dialog presents a list of all the Urdu letters and accents used in the program and next to every Urdu symbol is a list of all keys of the keyboard.

At the bottom of the dialog there are the Available keys which you can use. You can use These keys to change the value of English keys or you could select any key from the list next to the Urdu Symbol.

Example.

By default in the Phonetic keyboard, to type the Urdu letter Alef all you need is to press on the key a and to type the Urdu letter Ba you need to press on the key b

Suppose you want to reverse the two keys i.e. when you press the key b the Urdu letter Alef will be displayed and when you press the key a the Urdu letter Ba will be displayed.
To achieve this follow the next 2 steps :

1- From the list next to the Urdu letter Alef select the letter b
2- From the list next to the Urdu letter Ba select the letter a then press save.

Now you can see that when you press the key b the Urdu letter Alef will be displayed and when you press the key a the Urdu letter Ba will be displayed.

Please note :

  • If you have selected the same English key to display more then one Urdu symbol a Red line will appear under the keys which have the same key so resolve this by using the available key buttons before saving the new configuration.
  • When you change the English key next to the Urdu letter the previous English letter will become automatically available and will be displayed in the Available keys at the bottom of the dialog.
